Hacienda Santa Maria
Hacienda Santa Maria is conveniently located a short distance north of Toronto in the beautiful village of Erin, Ontario, just around the corner from the world-famous Angelstone Tournaments equestrian venue. Easily accessible via major highways, our 25-acre farm features an 18-stall heated barn, a sand ring, multiple paddocks, and pastures. Nearby, there are several picturesque trails where you can enjoy the Paso Fino’s uniquely comfortable riding gait.
At Hacienda Santa Maria, we’re passionate about horses, especially the Paso Fino. Though our farm is newly-established, owner Dr. Oscar Dalmao is a lifelong admirer of the Paso Fino horse, and he has a long history of breeding, showing, and raising awareness about this exceptional breed. With the help of skilled horse training and riding experts from Colombia, he has raised the highest-performing Paso Fino horses in Canada. Two of our horses, El Manto de Santa Maria and Uruguaya de Santa Maria, won 2nd place in the World Cup Paso Fino competition held in The Tropical Park, Miami, Florida, in September 2021, and El Manto de Santa Maria was awarded first place in his class at the 2022 Extravaganza International. Previously, no other Canadian Paso Fino horses had achieved such a high rank on the international stage.
It’s our hope that Hacienda Santa Maria will become more than a wonderful place to enjoy the famously smooth ride of the Paso Fino. Over time, we intend to build a community for Ontario residents who love horses as much as we do, with a continuing emphasis on the Paso Fino breed.
